What Niche Marketing Really Is

It's one of those hard, cruel facts of life that large have all the money they need to promote and sell their products and us little guys are on advertising budgets that are so small they probably do not add to what the large spend on paper clips in a month. Compete with larger ... is not feasible or possible, for that matter. So what we little guys do?

Niche marketing is our answer. We can promote our products and services to the world at large, but not be able to do that to make a pretty decent life ... thanks to the Internet.

Niche marketing is the sale of specific goods or services to a limited audience. A person with a computer, an Internet connection and a good idea can go into business for himself on the Internet and aimed at people who would be most interested in what has to sell and do all this in the advertising budget very limited.

Finding the right niche for what he has to sell is not really that difficult. Just think about who are the people who would be most interested in what you have to sell. For example, if you have invented a shampoo formula that will bleach the hair of a person, can not compete with giant companies that sell shampoo but you can reduce your market down to a place and sales target those that have pools. You buy a domain, get a server, and build a website to advertise their product only to people who have pools.

In essence, niche marketing is selling a product or service to those who want or need more product.
